HOW SLEEP PATTERNS CHANGE THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES - PART 2 MINI SERIES

SLEEPING BEAUTY – PART 2
HOW SLEEP PATTERNS CHANGE THROUGHOUT OUR LIVES
So, it’s 4am and you are staring at the ceiling knowing you are going to be awake for at least another hour. When you were a child you couldn’t ever wake up for school and had to be roused. What on earth has happened? Well of course life has interrupted us rudely! We have children, forged a career, worry about bills, get hot flushes/flashes…….no wonder we don’t sleep like a child. Many believe that fewer hours asleep is the price we pay for getting older and in part it is however, that doesn’t mean we can’t get a good few hours of refreshing sleep.
How many hours do we need? Well 7 to 9 is probably optimum but in reality it is the amount of hours you need to wake up feeling alert and fresh without the aid of an alarm clock. In reality given the fast pace of life that probably doesn’t happen too often.
Many of us are snatching just a few interrupted hours a night and despite what you may have read, we can’t train oursel…

SLEEPING BEAUTY - PART 1 - 5 BEAUTY BENEFITS OF A GOOD NIGHTS' SLEEP! - MINI SERIES

Hello!
Welcome to part one of the "SLEEPING BEAUTY" mini series at Savvy 'n Sassy !

Our beauty routines often involve expensive layer after layer of creams and serums and whilst these help, there are natural bodily functions that can help us even more than your sixty quid serum. The function I am talking about is SLEEP!

As we sleep our body repairs itself which in turn brings us amazing health and beauty benefits! Michael Breuss, PHD suggests that if we get less than six hours it is probably affecting our looks. The critical amount of sleep that we need is 7 to 9 hours! (I wish!). If we could just get an extra 1 to 3 hours of shut eye, Breuss (1) says that we will notice the difference in a day! I dream of getting even 5 hours of sleep a night. Anyone who knows me knows that I am always struggling with dark under eye circles due to lack of sleep. I would love them to diminish!

So, what are the beauty benefits of getting more sleep?

*A healthier, fuller head of hair.

SLEEPING BEAUTY - launching the mini series!

Hello and welcome back to the Savvy 'n' Sassy blog today.

This week I am running a series about sleep, something I am certainly deprived of! Reading all your emails and concerns, it is really apparent that I am not alone! There are millions of us women walking around in a zombified state yet still somehow getting through the day and being super heroes!
because of this I have been researching various aspects of sleep to find out how it affects us and what we can do about it. The result of my research is a "SLEEP MINI SERIES" for you.

So here is how this mini series is going to pan out;
1. Why a Good Nights Sleep is essential to your beauty routine, 2. How Sleep Changes throughout your life, 3. Sleep challenges for older adults, 4. 10 top tips to beat insomnia, and 5. Living with insomnia - myths debunked.
Each part will be released daily. Come back each day for the latest instalment! I truly hope that this will be really useful for you. Please do comment below about the series…
