MY TOP 3 MANTRAS THAT I LIVE BY – HOW THEY CHANGED MY LIFE AND CAN CHANGE YOURS TOO!

A couple of years ago I was having an incredibly tough time. I was sat in Harrods having afternoon tea just before Christmas and chatting to my lovely friend Debbie about people who had wronged me and how it was affecting me.
And boy, was it affecting me! That day I realised what a true friend Debbie was. SHE TOLD ME LIKE IT WAS, AND I CAN’T THANK HER ENOUGH. Her straight talking helped me get rid of the demons that had haunted me for years, even decades and has since led me to a much healthier and happier life.

So, what exactly what did she say that was so powerful I took it on board and changed my life? I have personalised the words so that when I repeat them they actually relate to me!
Number 1

“Only I can be responsible for my own happiness” – admittedly this sounded a little weird at first, after all, we frequently look elsewhere for happiness. Whether it’s seeking pleasure, placing the responsibility on others or buying “stuff”, it’s often the first thing we do when we are sad. Thankfully, I had an epiphany and realised that actually it’s about me having a positive attitude and to quit wallowing in my own pity party! If this sounds familiar remember that only you can choose to be happy. It is not anyone else’s responsibility!

Number 2

“The past is the past” – it’s way too easy to get stuck in the past. But…. it’s absolutely pointless! The past cannot be undone, finito! Yes, people and situations in the past have hurt me and yes, they were unjust and unfair, but how does feeling sorry for myself help me move forward and flourish?
Quite simply, it can’t! All living in the past does is make life bloody awful and miserable. It also holds you back emotionally and physically. So, in the words of Elsa, let it go! Refuse to be anyone’s or any circumstances victim any longer. MOVE FORWARD!

Number 3

See it to achieve it” – it’s no good just talking the talk, you have to walk the walk. Successful people don’t sit about dreaming, they go and make their ideas and dreams a reality. I can talk the talk until the cows come home, but it doesn’t help me achieve anything!
Unless I can absolutely visualise my goals, I will never be able to achieve them. Visualisation allows me to set targets which absolutely must be SMART. You know the old saying “Failing to plan is planning to fail”! Go grab your goals, don’t waste your life dreaming!

So there you go, three straight forward mantras that I will continue to live by in 2018. They aren’t resolutions or targets, they are plain and simple mantras that I keep close in my mind so that I can live life to the full and make the very best of every precious moment I am granted here on earth.

I’m not trying to pretend that things are perfect in my Savvy 'n' Sassy world  because I still need to work on my self-image, but that’s another story, coming soon on the blog!

Do you have any particular mantras or inspirational quotes you live by? If you do please feel free to share the love……

COMMON SYMPTOMS OF THE PERIMENOPAUSE.

Common Signs of the Perimenopause! Perimenopause was a word that terrified me. It meant I was getting old, wouldn't have any more children and would fade away into unsexy oblivion! The thing is I didn't want any more children, the two I have are beyond awesome. I don't feel old and my husband still fancies me - so what was the problem? For a start I did not understand what perimenopause meant! Also because I only feel seventeen inside, I couldn't possibly be old enough to be lurching forward to the menopause! I was too embarrassed to admit it and would find excuses to explain hot flushes etc! What a fool! I have heard other  friends make excuses or be terrified by a symptom. I realised I was not alone and so have put together a list of the most common perimenopause symptoms. Check through it and reassure yourself…...or....if you want to view the video chat  click here and enjoy the chat! Signs of the perimenopause 1.Changes in your period They may be...
